Bring your own AI key

Paid plans can already run every AI feature on their own Google Gemini API key. While a key is set, nothing you do with AI costs Framekit credits. Add one under Site settings → AI; the key is account-level, so setting it once covers every site you work on.

Gemini is the only provider you can bring a key for today. Support for other providers is on the list below.

We do not put dates on roadmap items. Two people build Framekit, and a date we miss is worse than an order we keep. The list below is in the order we intend to build it.

Public API and webhooks

Send form submissions to your CRM, sync store orders and products, and trigger email automations from Framekit events.

A REST API with scoped keys for reading and writing sites, pages, products, orders and form submissions, plus outbound webhooks for the events worth reacting to: a form submitted, an order paid, a gallery delivered, a review completed. This is what makes Framekit fit into a stack rather than sit beside one, and it is the most requested integration work we have.

Bring your own key for more providers

Use your own OpenAI or Anthropic key, the same way you can already use your own Gemini key.

Bringing your own Gemini key already works and takes AI off your credit balance entirely. Gemini is the only provider we accept a key for today, which is the gap worth closing: teams with an existing OpenAI or Anthropic contract should be able to run Framekit's AI on it. The house keys stay as the default for everyone who would rather not manage a key at all.

Code export for self-hosting

Download a static build of your site and host it on your own server.

Export a published site as static HTML, CSS, JavaScript and assets that you can host anywhere. The honest constraint: anything backed by Framekit's servers — the store and checkout, client galleries, video review, form handling, analytics — cannot come with a static export, so an exported site is the marketing site without the dynamic products behind it. We would rather ship that with the limitation stated plainly than promise a full self-hosted Framekit we are not going to build.
