# Framekit for Claude and ChatGPT

> Connect Framekit to Claude, ChatGPT or any MCP app and build and edit a Framekit website by chatting. The assistant runs on the user's own AI plan; the changes land on their real Framekit site.

Human-readable page: https://framekit.ai/connect
Connector (remote MCP server, Streamable HTTP, OAuth 2.1 sign-in): https://framekit.ai/mcp

## What it can do

- Design whole pages: Describe a page and it builds every section and writes the words, in your fonts and colors.
- Restyle the site: Change colors, fonts and the overall look, or apply a ready-made style.
- Make decks: Pitch decks, proposals and treatments, slide by slide, with a link to share.
- Find photos: Pull in stock photos that fit, or bring in images from a link you share.
- Run your store: Add products, update prices, or import them from your old shop.
- Take it back: Say “undo that” and the last round of changes comes back out.

## Things to ask

- "Make my homepage feel like a film poster: dark, moody, big serif type."
- "Add a Pricing page with three packages and a button to book a call."
- "Find warm, natural photos for my About page."
- "Rewrite my services section so it sounds friendlier."
- "Switch my fonts to something elegant and editorial."
- "Add my three new presets to the store at $15 each."
- "Look at my site and tell me what would make it better."
- "Turn my treatment notes into a 12-slide pitch deck I can share."
- "Undo that."

## Claude

Guide: https://framekit.ai/connect/claude

Add Framekit to Claude once, then build and edit your website just by asking. It takes about a minute.

Who can use it: Works on Claude's Free, Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise plans. On the free plan you can add one custom connector. Once added on the web or desktop app, Framekit is there on your phone too.

1. Copy your Framekit link. This is the link Claude uses to reach your sites. Link: https://framekit.ai/mcp
2. Add it to Claude. In Claude, open Customize, then Connectors. Click +, choose Add custom connector, name it Framekit and paste the link. (Open Claude connectors: https://claude.ai/settings/connectors?modal=add-custom-connector)
3. Sign in and allow. Click Connect. Sign in to Framekit, press Allow, and you'll land back in Claude.
4. Start asking. In a new chat, click + and then Connectors, and check Framekit is on. Then tell Claude what you'd like to change.

Tips:
- Say which site you mean if you have more than one.
- Claude may ask you to approve a change before it makes it. That's normal.
- Share a link to a site you love and ask Claude to match its feel.

**I'm on a Team or Enterprise plan. Where do I add it?** An owner of your Claude organization adds Framekit once, in Organization settings, then Connectors. After that, each person finds it under Customize, then Connectors, and clicks Connect.

**Can I use it on my phone?** Yes. Add Framekit on the web or desktop app first, and it's ready in the Claude mobile app as well.

## ChatGPT

Guide: https://framekit.ai/connect/chatgpt

Add Framekit to ChatGPT, then build and edit your website just by asking.

Who can use it: Framekit is on its way to the ChatGPT app directory, where adding it will take one click. Until then, ChatGPT Business, Enterprise and Edu workspaces can add it as a custom app on chatgpt.com. Your workspace admin may need to add it for you.

1. Copy your Framekit link. This is the link ChatGPT uses to reach your sites. Link: https://framekit.ai/mcp
2. Add it to ChatGPT. On chatgpt.com, open Plugins, click + and choose Add custom MCP server. Name it Framekit and paste the link under Connection.
3. Sign in and allow. Choose OAuth for sign-in, confirm the warning, and create it. Sign in to Framekit and press Allow.
4. Start asking. In a new chat, type @, pick Framekit, and tell ChatGPT what you'd like to change.

Tips:
- Pick Framekit with @ again when a later message needs it.
- ChatGPT asks you to confirm before it changes your site. That's normal.
- Say which site you mean if you have more than one.

**I have ChatGPT Plus or Pro. Can I use it?** Not yet. ChatGPT only lets Business, Enterprise and Edu workspaces add apps that make changes. Framekit will be one click away for everyone once it's in the ChatGPT app directory. Claude works today on every plan.

**Does it work in the ChatGPT mobile app?** Custom apps work on chatgpt.com in the browser for now.

## Claude Code, Cursor and more

Guide: https://framekit.ai/connect/developers

Framekit is a remote MCP server. Point any MCP app at one URL, sign in, and it gets the same website tools as Framekit's own AI.

Who can use it: Any app that supports remote MCP servers over Streamable HTTP with OAuth sign-in.

1. Use the server URL. Streamable HTTP. Sign-in is OAuth 2.1 with automatic discovery and dynamic client registration, so there are no keys to create. Link: https://framekit.ai/mcp
2. Sign in. Your app opens Framekit in the browser. Sign in and press Allow. Read-only and editing access are asked for separately.
3. Read the rules first. The server's instructions tell the model to call listSites, getSiteOverview and getFramekitGuide before it writes. Most apps follow them on their own.

### Claude Code

Add the server, then run /mcp in a session and choose Authenticate.

```
claude mcp add --transport http framekit https://framekit.ai/mcp
```

### Cursor

One click opens Cursor's own confirmation. Or add it by hand:

```
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "framekit": {
      "url": "https://framekit.ai/mcp"
    }
  }
}
```

### VS Code

One click opens VS Code, which asks before adding it. Or add it by hand:

```
{
  "servers": {
    "framekit": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://framekit.ai/mcp"
    }
  }
}
```

### Codex

Add the server, then sign in with codex mcp login framekit.

```
codex mcp add framekit --url https://framekit.ai/mcp
```

Tips:
- Every tool is marked read-only, editing or destructive, so apps that ask before risky actions do.
- Writes from one app to one site share an undo step until ten quiet minutes pass. undoAIChanges takes back the whole step.
- Warnings that start with [MUST FIX] mean the block needs another pass.

**Is there an API key option?** Not yet. Sign-in is OAuth only, which every current MCP app supports.

**Which permissions does it ask for?** sites:read to see your sites and sites:write to change them. An app given only sites:read cannot edit anything.

## Questions

**Do I need a Framekit site first?** No. Ask your assistant to start a new site and it makes one for you. If you already have sites, tell it which one to work on, or ask it to copy one as the start of a new site.

**Can it make decks too?** Yes. Ask for a deck and it builds one slide by slide, from scratch or from one of Framekit's templates, and can work on the decks you already have. When it's ready, ask it to share the deck and it sends you the link.

**Does it cost anything?** Connecting is free. Your assistant does the thinking on your own Claude or ChatGPT plan, and your site and publishing work the same as they always do on your Framekit plan.

**Can I undo a change?** Yes. Ask your assistant to undo and the last round of changes it made comes back out.

**What can my assistant see?** Only the sites on the Framekit account you sign in with, and only after you press Allow. To stop, remove Framekit from your assistant's connector settings.

**Can it help with Google and my contact form?** Yes. Ask it to improve your SEO and it writes the titles and descriptions Google shows for your site and each page, plus the image people see when they share a link. It can also read what visitors sent through your forms.

**How do I publish?** Tell your assistant to publish when you're happy with the preview, or open the site in Framekit and press Publish. Either way, your plan covers the same things it always does.

**Can I see the changes before they go live?** Yes. Ask your assistant for a preview and it sends a private link showing your site exactly as visitors will see it. Only people you share the link with can open it, and your live site stays as it is until you publish.
